Wen Boley bought a used car for his son at an auction and it snowballed into a company. "The car was totally covered with dog hair,” he explained. “I spent nearly half a back
breaking day struggling with a lint brush, masking tape, and a vacuum just to do a
mediocre job. I couldn’t help but chant to myself, ‘There’s got to be a better way’.”
Frustration turned to inspiration when Wen envisioned the ideal tool for the task: “A giant piece of tape that would get all the hair off of a chair at once.” With just a few of these sheets he could have turned a job that took hours into something that would have taken less than ten minutes. And that was just the car! He only dared to
imagine the potential inside the house!
Wen soon launched StickySheets with his wife Rebecca to share his invention with frustrated pet owners everywhere. Wen and Rebecca balance their day jobs in modern Celtic band Twinflame with StickySheets, which they sell direct via TV
spots and a website. Wen’s dual careers intersected when he started the company in spring 2005. “My first order of business was to write the jingle,” he laughed.
With over 25,000 tons of pet hair shed by pets in the US every year, Wen’s invention
will render lint rollers obsolete for large-scale hair removal tasks virtually overnight.
Lint rollers are perfect for removing lint from clothing, but no matter how sticky you make the adhesive on one, you still have to stop every few seconds and arduously peel away layers to regain a few moderately effective strokes – if the roll
actually stays on the roller. Even then, they still don’t do the job well.
StickySheets are about two times stickier than hair removal rollers and typically remove all the hair in just one application. It’s even sticky enough to remove those woven in hairs that usually require one by one removal by hand.
One package contains 12 large 23x35 inch sheets, the same surface area as 30
adhesive lint rollers. And StickySheets works ten times faster on large surfaces than
any lint roller or vacuum cleaner. That's a good investment for $19.95!
